HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ALL MY MOMS

Picture
Dear Moms and Families:

Did you know: It starts in Exodus 20:12:
                         "Honor thy Father and Mother"
And continues to Leviticus 19:3:
"Everyone of you shall revere his mother and his father."

In 1868 Ann Reeves Jarvis organized "Mothers' Friendship Day”.
In 1870, Suffragette, Julia Ward Howe campaigned for a Mother's Peace Day In 1905, Anna Jarvis, (daughter of Ann Reeves Jarvis) proposed Mother's Day as a way of honoring her Mother's (Ann Reeves Jarvis) death. She requested funds from John Wannamaker and, In 1908, organized the first Mother's Day Celebration at a church, along with Wannamaker's Event at his retail store in Philadelphia. By 1912, it caught on through many of the states in our country. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a bill designating the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day and asked all Americans to publicly thank their Mothers.

May 9, 1914, was the first Mother's Day in the United States.

                                                                 THERE YOU HAVE IT!

Of course, my mom, in her inimitable fashion would shout:

                                                      "EVERY DAY IS MOTHER'S DAY."

In addition to YOUR MOTHER, WHO UNCONTESTED HOLDS THE FIRST PLACE TITLE, this holiday extends to Aunts, Cousins, Daughters, Stepmothers, Grandmothers, Friends, and what-have-you.

It is fitting as most women have the innate quality of loving, protecting, nurturing, and giving UNSOLICITED advice...It is not just the woman who gave birth to you, but all the women who had a part of your life, molding YOU. They each lent you a piece of their DNA, their values, their hugs and kisses, even the ones you didn't like very much. Our Higher Being and The Universe knew what they were doing when they made the female sex, THE mothers. It was a job that no one else could do with unconditionality.

If a woman had the first baby,
And the man, the second baby,
The woman would have the third baby,
But we doubt that the man would have the fourth!

Your attributes came from all the women in your life. They each added something to your well-roundedness.
  • Was it your Mother-in-Law who taught you to cook?
  • Was it your stepmother who taught you the finer things in life?
  • Was it your Aunt who was always your defender?
  • Was it your cousin who helped you with fashion and hairstyles?
  • Was it your banker/adviser who taught you how to save?
  • Was it a friend who helped you with your love life?
  • Was it your grandmother who taught you where you came from and who you are?
  • Was it your office partner who always had your back?
  • Was it fair-weather friends, who taught you to not be vulnerable?
  • Was it your second-grade teacher, who taught you how to concentrate and study?
  • Was it the romance author who taught you about romance?
  • Was it the therapist who helped you sort things out?
  • Was it your obstetrician who helped you become a mother yourself?

It was so many, many women, all in the mix to make you...

                                                                                ...YOU!
                                                                IT WAS GIRL POWER!

The Queen of Mothers' Day is, of course, your own mother. It is she who taught you that you are
STRONG AND WORTHY.

LET'S GO WITH STRONG AND WORTHY. YOU DESERVE THIS...ENJOY YOUR DAY!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!
