However, that morning, she couldn't put it into words; but she had a FEELING of unrest, of uncertainty, and she was experiencing a clear unspoken warning. LOVE IS DEFINED AS AN INTENSE F E E L I N G OF DEEP AFFECTION
Have you noticed how carelessly the word "love" is used?? EG: I just love your sweater ! (Even though it is scratchy?) I just love Brad Pitt ! (Well, let's see. Have you ever met him?) I love Ya ! (What exactly is a Ya? ) LOVE is a personal bond. If you overuse the word, it will have little value when you need it the most. In the month of February, love is rampant with Valentine's Day. This is synonymous with red and pink hearts, candy, flowers, and multitudes of gifts. The red rose holds the number one spot! Of course it does, as it was the favorite flower of the roman goddess of love, Venus. It endures on this day ! First and foremost we always recommend following your doctor's orders, re treats for your own personal health. But if it is a go, then lucky YOU ! On this day we are encouraged to raise a glass of wine. Make it red as red wine is full of important antioxidants to protect the lining of blood vessels in your heart and ALWAYS drink in moderation. Treat yourelf to some dark chocolate as it tends to lower blood pressure. On Valentine's day........* We wear red to symbolize our beating heart full of love. * The card shops are overflowing with beautiful cards sending verses of love to the ones you hold dear. * Florists are working overtime delivering bouquets full of fragrant beauty. * Millions of heart shaped boxes filled with delicious chocolate candy are sold. *There are even cards for your pets and special treats for them. Most important.......LOVE YOURSELF. A great feeling. It is your most important relationship ! Happy Valentine's Day to all my readers . CAROL-ROSE MARSHALL Painting: Hearts by Peter Max I SUPPOSE YOU WILL THINK IT STRANGE, FOR ME TO PLACE THIS ITEM IN THE CATEGORY OF WHATNOTS... IT IS AN ITEM THAT IS SOUGHT AFTER BY WOMEN OF ALL AGES, FROM THE BEGINNING OF TIME, AND BY MEN, FOR ITS BEAUTY AND VALUE. JEWELRY MY VERY FAVORITE WHATNOT! WHAT IS YOUR FANCY? SILVER, GOLD, PLATINUM, DIAMONDS, RUBIES, EMERALDS, PEARLS, RINGS AND THINGS, ETC., ETC., ETC.!! One of the most famous jeweler of all time is TIFFANY & Co., encompassing 200 years of history. We remember a famous movie in 1961 called "Breakfast at Tiffany's”. The movie opens with: Audrey Hepburn (Holly GoLightly) stepping out of a cab holding a cup of coffee, dressed in evening clothes. Was she a socialite, adorned in elegance, or in fact, was she a lady of the night getting off from work? No matter, for she is iconicly gorgeous as she peruses the enchanting Tiffany windows. Almost as famous as the jewels it might house, is the legendary little blue box, known as "Tiffany Blue Box." It is beautifully tied with a white ribbon and known all over the world. This special hue is described as a medium, robin egg blue color and was created personally by Charles Tiffany in 1837. It is a registered trademark by Tiffany & Co. and synonymous with the company. It is a proven fact that Jewelry makes a woman FEEL POSITIVE and creates a FEELING OF CONFIDENCE. Perhaps some consider it to be frivolous, but nevertheless, we consider it JOYFUL. Whether it be a young girl's first gift from her beloved or a woman of royalty or wealth considering a piece for her collection...
Let's face it ladies, WE ARE ALL SMITTEN! I sometimes think if I had to do all over again, I would become a gemologist I would travel to Africa, and learn about the mines, continue on to Paris, Milan and London and create collections, one for every day of the week. Remember, the dedication on the home page and in the book, "The Feeling?" It said, DREAM A DREAM...... well, WHY NOT??? "However, that morning, she couldn't put it into words; but she had a FEELING of unrest, of uncertainty, and she was experiencing a clear unspoken warning." AKA: COMARADERIE, COMPANIONSHIP, TOGETHERNESS, SOCIABILITY, AND LOVEOLD FRIENDS VS. NEW FRIENDS It is a wonderful thing to have faithful old friends, those that match the devotion of this puppy. How many can say that they have a friend that they walked into kindergarten with? How many can say that the 10-year-old across the street is still on the phone with you? How many can say that the 14-year-old in high school has gone through marriages and children with you? How many can say that the friend at your important jobs is still there in retirement? I am one of the lucky few. These friends have gone through fire and water with you. They are like a boomerang because even if you argue, they come back. Secrets galore and what went down on Yourstreet, USA always stays on Yourstreet, USA. They have weathered childhood, teenage years, marriages, children, work environments, sad losses of parents, divorces, careers, relocation, and retirement and still hold your hand. They understood your moods happy or not, decisions bad or good, and with no judgment stayed by your side. They know you well and are your extended siblings. THEY ARE YOUR OLD FRIENDS... Whether you like it or not, they tell you the truth, and not always what you want to hear. But, always with your best interests at heart. Like Oscar Wilde said: "A good friend will always stab you in the front." They are to be cherished, because this brand of friendship is far and few between. NEW FRIENDS They are there for lots of good times, card games, holidays without relatives, rounds of dinners, opening up new ways of life and more interests, to bring to the table. Some of them have made the grade and will graduate to the old friend category as they are steadfast and caring. And some just fade away as there wasn't much substance to begin with, just someone to pass the time with. Cut them some slack, as they don't know your history. We start off on the surface and it could progress stages of to safe and valuable. They have potential. It takes time to qualify, as there are friends for all your life. New friends are strangers, and need time to ferment like good wine. Give it a chance, put the time in! But, do release any toxicity. I have been fortunate and some new friends have entered my old friend category. They were just what the doctor ordered at new times in my life. We go by the Girl Scout Slogan, "Make new friends but keep the old. One is Silver, the other gold." Good friendships are to be valued, old or new. Here's some advice: IT IS EXCEPTIONALLY CHALLENGING TO MAINTAIN
FRIENDS OVER A LIFETIME. Keep the friends who are kind, affectionate, devoted, clever, and always there. SOOOOO.....IN OTHER WORDS, …DON'T LOSE ME!! An intense, enjoyable, but difficult emotion!
"All thoughts to the wind!" Enjoy, but please be careful, as... ...ONLY the moment counts! What is the purpose?
It not only designates the numbered year but is the day we say goodbye to the old year and hello to the new. It is a new beginning and a national holiday in the United States. 1904 was the first year this was celebrated in Times Square, New York. In 1907 the first ball was dropped in this location from a flag pole. Our current Times Square ball is a sphere, 12 ft. in diameter, and weighs 11,875 pounds. It is covered in 2688 Waterford Crystal triangles varying in size. It is worth more than One million dollars. It has 672 LED nodules. It begins its descent at 11:59:00 p.m. EST, and lands at midnight to signal the start of the New Year. It is estimated that one million people attend these festivities in New York City. This year will mark the year 2024. The innocent prayer of a child

MOTHERS, ALL KINDS...................
It is 2032 and for the very first time, the population of the United States has elected its very first woman president. Not only that, but she is the first Jewish citizen to become President of the United States. She is Rachel Goldman, and excitedly calls her Mother first. Her Mom answers the phone and Rachel says, "Mom, are you coming to my inauguration ceremony?" Her mother, Sarah, responds, “Not sure because it's a long trip...I'm not as young as I used to be, and your Father needs to take his nap every day.” The president-elect says, "Mom, I will send Air Force One to pick you up, a hairdresser to spruce you up, and a valet for Daddy. You will have a custom-made gown to die for. There's no problem! Her mother, Sarah thinks a minute and says, “That's all well and good, but we are on special diets and can't eat all those fancy foods they serve. The President-Elect, Rachel, gives a big sigh, and says, "I will make sure that a kosher caterer is hired to do this affair just for you. Mama, I really want you to be with me.” Finally, her mother relents and agrees to come. On Inauguration Day. Rachel Goldman is being sworn in as President. Her Mom is in the front row beaming with pride and taps the shoulder of the Senator sitting right next to her. She says to him, "Sir....do you see that woman over there, with her hand on the bible and becoming President of the United States? The Senator respectfully whispers back, "Yes, I do." President Rachel Goldman's Mother, says proudly, "I just want you to know that her brother is a doctor!” Did you know that the last time that Christmas and Chanukah landed on the same exact day was in 2005? The next time this happens will be in 2024. The word Chanukah translates to dedication, as it was following a revolt and the rededication of the holy temple in Jerusalem, occurred. When the temple was liberated, they found one bottle of oil which was enough for one day’s burning. Miraculously it lasted for 8 days and is the reason Chanukah is celebrated for 8 days. However, it is a minor holiday in the Jewish religion. Christmas, however, is a major holiday in the Christian religion. There is nothing in the bible that designates the day Jesus was actually born. They estimate his birth was somewhere around 4 BC. Emperor Constantine in Rome began celebrating Christmas on December 25th in 336. It is believed that the selection of December 25th for celebration is because it is exactly nine months after March 25th, the date of his crucifixion. Both holidays for their respective religions denote Celebration, Religion, Family, Lights, Food, and Presents, and in this we are united. Oh yes, both begin with the letters, CH. It's nothing new! They were first built in the 17th Century in Holland, Germany, and England and designed for adults. The thinking was that dollhouses allowed for emotion, imagination, and freedom. In 18th Century England, there was "The Baby House." These doll houses were an exact replica of peoples' homes, to show the owner's wealth. Queen Mary, mother of King George V and grandmother of Elizabeth II, constructed a dollhouse that was three feet tall. The scale was one inch to one foot. The items within were replicas of those in Windsor Castle and have been on display since 1925, at Windsor Castle in England. It is spectacular! Like at Windsor Castle, in the home of your hostess, in Boca Raton, is a contemporary dollhouse, constructed by her husband and furnished by yours truly. It was a labor of love collecting items from various trips and events encompassing 20 years. We would like to share this with you and present the following pictures for your enjoyment! Please comment your thoughts at the end. Each item represents multiple FEELINGS. Remember, the lesson here is… …IT'S OKAY TO PLAY Of course, we all know stories of how Thanksgiving began. But, how many of us actually think of that on this holiday?
Generally, it is a day of the Macy’s Parade, football, family, and lots and lots of FOOD. It is a day that we are not hampered by buying presents and putting our financial situations in Jeopardy (for months and months) due to the holiday pressure. It is a day that we do not think of dieting. That can wait till tomorrow. It is a federal holiday, and we do not have to fight for the day off. Because it is always on Thursday, we can try for 4-day weekends. It is a day that we get to see family and friends. Those we love and also those we tolerate. If you ask most Americans, they will tell you it is their favorite holiday. And why is that? Your menu will most likely have leftovers. You can share them with your guests or else....tomorrow you don't have to cook. It is a great day to be Merry.......You can get up late. Most dinners start after 3 PM and onward. You can watch football, and it is expected of you. All in all, it is a holiday that you just get to be you, with no expectations! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! The first meeting was scheduled, and Rachel dreaded the encounter. She entered Mr. Epstein's conference room where Michael and his attorney, John Ryan, were already seated. It was odd to be sitting on opposite sides of the table from her husband. Michael shook his head, and then loudly said, “NO! Rachel, know this, we will sell the house when we split. And besides Rachel, I don't see how you could keep it without my support." Sol Epstein said, "John, why does your client think that he won't have to support her there? I think you should set him straight. This was a long-term marriage.” Michael continued: "I can see this is a waste of time. I'm not handing the house over to you, and I'm not spending the rest of my life paying you." Michael ranted up and down the conference room. His language was disparaging and demeaning as he addressed her. Rachel couldn't look at him. She kept thinking; this is the man that I gave my very being to for over thirty years. EDITOR'S NOTE: A 30-year marriage ending. How will they part? How will assets be split up? How will each survive, after only knowing each other for over 30 years? Can they move on? 1948 - Israel's War of Independence 1956 - Suez Crisis 1967 - Six-Day War 1973 - Yom Kippur War 1982 - Lebanon War 2006 - Second Lebanon War 2023 - Hamaz, Hezbollah Iran, etc. Here we go again! The most Jewish people killed since the Holocaust. (War years 1933-45 global conflict.) A beautiful country, a military powerhouse, a democratic state, a homeland of the Jewish people! As Golda Meir said: "You cannot negotiate properly with someone who has come to kill you." How many religions are in Israel? As of 2022, 73.6% are Jewish, 18.1% Muslim, 1.9% Christian, and 1.6% Druze. The remaining 4.8% include Samaritanism and Bahai, and unclassified. The events of October 7, 2023, bred out of pure anti-Semitism. Never again! It must be remembered every day! It’s our beautiful Villa on Lake Como in Italy. On the right is the home of our neighbors, Amal and George Clooney. Last night we attended their cocktail party, with Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. They all read the script of my book and agreed to do the movie.
We have just had breakfast looking at the beautiful lake and will take our personal sailboat out on the lake. The weather is balmy and there is calm in the air. We are enjoying all that life has to give on this beautiful day. Are we dreaming? Is it real? Of course! It is in my mind’s eye! A beautiful place and a beautiful oil painting, allowing us to fantasize…LOL “She was totally impassive to the obvious sexual wrong-doing. There were no feelings left, and she just didn’t care.” “She no longer questioned his whereabouts, and thought, Let it go, the way it goes.” The popular joke was: Why did the cat get divorced? The answer was: Because he was a Cheetah! ”Weak and at her wit's end, she went downstairs in an effort to get away from his outburst. She’d then slipped and fallen in the center foyer of the house. Michael had apparently followed her; he’d grabbed her on the floor and put his hands around her throat and started choking her. Looking at his violent face, she’d lay there helplessly thinking, this is it. He will finally kill me.” EDITOR’S NOTE Rachel had held tight to the goal of raising and putting her children through school. She needed to control this. At this juncture, her twins were graduating from High School. She had put so much time in and soldiered her situation till now. Now it had turned violent. She could walk away! It was 1987. Could she upset their college dreams? She thought, “One choice might be, “Three sheets to the wind.” (No, nothing to do with being personally drunk.) That phrase has its origin in the days of “Sailing ships.” At the end of each sail, there was a cord called a sheet. If the sheet is loose, (or drunk), it doesn’t provide control. It could be tightened or loosened depending on the strength of the wind. Could she let it all go loose and let her ship go, or could she tighten it? She was all about control and garnering strength…..What will she do? HAVE YOU READ “THE FEELING?”
WHO WAS ADRIENNE SANDERS Let me introduce you: Adrienne was Rachel’s mother-in-law and Michael’s Mother. Adrienne was a great homemaker and hard worker. By trade, she was a bookkeeper and liked to keep things in their proper columns. The family loved her cooking, specifically her coffee cake. She would always be on Rachel’s side, except if she thought the family would be broken. She was great friends with Rachel’s Mother and the two women spoke every week, and plotted for their mutual family. Her own marriage had a great deal of unhappiness, but they stayed together, as most couples in that era did. Her passing occurred on her daughter-in-law's birthday, as though it was her final decision to stay connected on that day. Rachel loved and respected her till her untimely end. DID YOU KNOW THAT THE NAME OCTOBER,... ...originated from the Roman Calendar? It means “Eight.” It was the eighth month on that calendar. January and February were added later on, as the Romans increased the calendar to 12 months. At this point, October became the 10th month. Confusing? That’s what the Romans thought and decided to leave the 10th month with the name October! It’s a beautiful month. Temperatures have cooled down and a new landscape appears. There are vibrant colors of orange, yellow, and red, with an atmosphere of crisp and cool air.
The pumpkin farms are bustling, as Halloween is coming. The kids look forward to it and love dressing up in costumes. Most parents dread the holiday, as they need to be vigilant for the safety of their children. And oh yes, that doorbell keeps ringing! Have fun kids…young and old!! It’s amazing! When do you become you? A STORY OF CONCEPTIONTwo weeks into your Mother’s monthly cycle, one of the eggs (that will become you) starts to grow. It is automatic. It is a fluid-filled sac called a follicle. Your Mother’s body will not desert you, as it will release a hormone that thickens the lining of her uterus and is now ready to protect the egg. Thank you, Mother! Next, nature steps in, and you, (the egg) travel to the fallopian tube and reside there for approximately 24 hours. Here’s where the excitement starts…You are waiting for one single sperm to fertilize you. Just ONE, mind you! It’s AMAZING! There are millions of sperm. The winner, a sperm (THE sperm) penetrates the egg. A big change occurs, and NOW, no other sperm can enter the egg. You have been fertilized and at that very instant, your genes and sex are set. If the sperm has a Y chromosome, you will be a boy. If it has an X chromosome, you will be a girl. Life has begun. Amazing! You, the egg, will comfortably stay in your mother’s fallopian tube for about 3-4 days. (Thank goodness for the well-earned rest) However, within 24 hours after being fertilized a division of cells starts. Slowly it begins the journey to the uterus for implantation or attachment and you are where you are supposed to be! By the 10th-12th day, you are given the title: EMBRYO. You are now considered a whole human being. IT’S AMAZING!!!!! Within 3 weeks, your first nerve cells have formed. Shortly after, your brain has started to appear. At 4 weeks, forms of your face and neck develop...The lungs, heart, blood vessels, stomach, and liver are coming into being. You need nourishment and the evolving placenta will do that for you. At 8 weeks, you are actually a tiny bit more than half an inch…Everything is forming. Your eyelids, ears, tip of nose, arms, legs, fingers, toes. Are you, YOU, … yet? At the end of the 10th week, you have graduated, as you are now considered A FETUS! This title is yours until birth. At 12 weeks, Fetus, You, measures approximately 2 inches. You can move! You can hear, and you have a heartbeat! Your sex organs are now clear. The end of the first trimester. 16 weeks…You measure 4 – 4.6 inches. You weigh about 3.5 ounces. Wow, you can blink. Your heart and blood vessels are fully formed. You are unique as your fingers and toes now have fingerprints. At 20 weeks, you are halfway through your 40-week process. You have found comfort and can now suck your thumb, it feels good to yawn, and stretch. You are moving. Those people outside want to do an ultrasound. They want to know if you are a boy or a girl. (The secret is now out.) They are excited. You guess that they are what are known as parents. 24 weeks…You feel a jerking response when your Mom hiccups. Your inner ear is fully developed. A network of nerve cells provides consciousness. 28 weeks, third-trimester beginning. Good chance you will survive now! What have you been doing? You have spent 95% of the day sleeping, mostly in REM sleep. It is likely that you are dreaming. Your brain will develop and so will your memory. 32 weeks and you are almost 4 lbs. and its fun to move. Layers of fat are forming under your skin. 36 weeks. You are about 18.6 inches and about 6 lbs. Your brain has developed quickly. Your lungs are almost fully developed. Wow, your head is now positioned down your Mom’s pelvis. 40 weeks…..is the optimum for your birth. BirthLungs are the last organ to develop, but they are formed now.
You are starting to feel pressure as you are squeezed and heading down the birth canal. You have been cushioned in Mother’s womb and suddenly this is the beginning of your journey. You have heard your Mother’s voice and your Father’s too. There were other people who talked to you. You are so happy that no one disturbed your trip of becoming YOU…They allowed you to develop. You wanted to live and are grateful that no one stopped you…You are almost there…Your Mother is helping and pushing you out. Soon you will meet her. Your head is out and slowly your whole body is delivered. People are helping to clear the fluid from your mouth and throat and your lungs are filling with air. You take your first precious breath! You cry, telling the world that your respiratory and circulatory system has made the transition from life inside your Mom’s womb to YOUR life outside. OMG! It is shocking. They are cutting the umbilical cord. Will it hurt? No, there is no pain because the umbilical cord does not have nerves. You are brought to this wonderful human being who is your mother and being held skin-to-skin. She is beautiful and holding you with so much love. You are covered with a blanket and they put a pink hat on your head. Your Dad is looking at you with amazement and swears to protect you. YOU ARE AMAZING! YOU ARE UNIQUE! YOU ARE BORN! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! “I made it! “ “Life is beautiful! “Rachel needed to uncover WHO AND WHAT she was dealing with.” “This would be her coming out party and she was ready to go. She was NOT in Mommy Mode. NO!” “This was her Pearl Harbor attack - not expected.” “Staring into the eyes of her bespectacled predator, Rachel said, ‘You may say that Mrs. Sanders, his wife is here. I AM Rachel Sanders.’” Editor’s Note: It took a lot for Rachel to confront her husband’s mistress with a carefully planned surprise visit to the office. She didn’t know how it would end. Would it be Maria’s end - Michael’s End? Get your copy of The Feeling to find out! VARIOUS TYPES OF HAPPINESS

Let me introduce you! Roz Daniels-Lesser was the mother of our heroine, Rachel Sanders. Roz Daniels-Lesser’s life was turned upside down when her husband, Gary Lesser, unexpectedly left their home in 1948 for “another woman”. It was not a time when divorce was prevalent and was clearly a huge shock to her and her family. Roz was a housewife and did not work outside the home. This was the usual structure of family life in the forties. The phrase, “single mother,” was unknown at that time, but that is what she had become! Life would be different for her and her small daughter, Rachel. Roz was 37 years old and her daughter was 10 years old. The word “infidelity” now became a household word. Roz and the Daniels family closed ranks around Rachel. The family, comprising of Roz’s sister, brother, and parents would become, one household emotionally. However, Roz lived independently on the “fair” sum of money Gary sent each week. For the times, it was a decent amount. $75.00 a week, at that time, would pay for rent, electricity, food, clothing, transportation, medical, and assorted living sundries. There was not much left over, except for an occasional movie, which was definitely a treat. Roz was pretty, intelligent, neat as a pin, kind, and especially fierce when it came to Rachel who would become her whole life. When asked why she didn’t remarry, Roz would say, “I am not picking up anyone’s socks anymore, and no man will tell me what to do with my daughter.” Roz entrenched her life with family and Rachel developed the same closeness. Raising Rachel in a quiet atmosphere, with an abundance of love, she taught her child generosity and good sense A code of ethics was instilled early on, and an adherence to The Ten Commandments and a wish to strive for a good future family life. Roz had a ferocity of protectiveness for her child and grandchildren as though they were the only people in the world. She was strong but gentle. She was demanding, but loving. And her dedication would last a lifetime. |
